Fourth grade, 1996

Chapter Two

     In Kindergarten I had Mrs. Zealay as my teacher.  One of the things my Mom did that year was make playdough every week on Thursday for our class.  Each week it was a different color.  One of the things I really liked in Kindergarten was the Dinosaur Hunt we had in our class.  I also liked the little centers we had.  I remember always going home with sand in my shoes from the sandbox that year.

     In first grade I regurgitated my dinner on my desk.  I was sick.  Everybody knew what I ate because it was laying there.  Then my teacher, Mrs. Scott, had a science lesson on how sometimes food goes the wrong way.  Another thing I remember about first grade was when Mrs Scott could not remember peoples names she would call them “Sugar”.  Mrs Scott is no longer a first grade teacher.  She is the lower grade science teacher.

     In second grade I had Mrs. Sutton for my teacher.  She really liked to sing.  We sang every day.  One of the things that was fun was we did a little dance for other classes.  My favorite was the Mexican Hat Dance.

     In third grade I had Mrs. Overton.  She was one of my favorite teachers. because she gave out “bonus bucks”. It’s like play money.  You earned one if you where good and lost on if you were bad.  At the end of each month she would auction off toys.
